  • Lee Jackson Day in Lexington, Virginia-10 a.m. Memorial service dedicated to General 'Stonewall Jackson' at his grave site in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery.
  • 11 a.m. Following the conclusion of the Jackson service, a parade of heritage groups, re-enactors, and attendees will leave the cemetery marching down Main Street to Virginia Military Institute.

January 22, 23 Special Olympics Virginia Alpine Skiing Championships at Wintergreen Resort -  Nearly 100 Virginia athletes with intellectual disabilities will compete for the gold at the 2007 Special Olympics Virginia Alpine Skiing Championships. The two-day competition, consists of time trials on the first day and the final competition on the second day. The opening ceremony kicks off the races on Monday and concludes with a dinner and dance.

April 21, 22 Folk Festival at Pharsalia, a Historical Home in Nelson County - Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the formation of Nelson County. This special event will showcase the historic home and lands of Pharsalia, built in the early 1800s, an absolute treasure of Nelson County. The event will showcase costumed hosts to present food, beverage and music along with merchants and transportation of the time. The parade features floats, marching units, vehicles, animals and best of all Santa Claus. There are also civic clubs and street vendors selling food and beverages.
