Accommodations...
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you warmed yourself
beside a wood fire - and
listened to the absolute stillness that can only be found in a
cabin hidden deep in a mountain laurel hollow?
GET
A FAVORITE BOOK, pull up a wing chair and warm your
feet by the
hearth in the cabin's original log great room. Exposed pine beams and soft
glow of lantern light will take you back in time. Or set up a game
of Monopoly or checkers on the farm table and just try to keep
your eyes open! There is a full size sleep sofa and wing chairs in front of the Fisher
woodstove and a farm table and chairs in the dining area. You might want
to watch a movie on what some of our guests have called a secret
television - a
hidden television that makes it easy to have a "media free" stay
(includes cable/VCR.) The cabin also has a phone.
JUST UP THE CARVED STAIRCASE is the original log bedroom. It boasts
vaulted ceilings with skylights, hardwood floors, a queen bed and two
twins. Each is stacked with pillows and dressed in quilts. The blanket
chest is filled with cozy quilts and blankets.
CLIMB THE LADDER up to the
loft hidden in the peak of the cabin. It has its own antique four pane
window that looks out over the pines and laurels. It sleeps one (or two
if they don't mind closeness) and is a favorite of adults and children
alike.
LEST YOU EQUATE
log cabin living with "roughing it", let us assure you that that's not
the case at Three Sisters. The bathroom is cozy with its hardwood floors
and hooked rugs (there is a shower) and the sky lit kitchen is
amazing - the large expanse of picture windows and post and
beam construction give it an outdoor feeling while its efficient design
makes cooking pleasurable. There is a microwave, coffee maker and the
usual kitchen tools. Just outside the kitchen door you'll find a
hot tub and Adirondack chairs on the fieldstone
terrace.
